Table Top Gas Grill – Grilling on the Move

Article by Cliff Woods

Table top grills are the answer when you want to grill, and space is a premium. You can get the same great tastes form all the same foods you love to grill without the space requirements of a full size grill.

I love to tailgate. Weekends, a ball game, and friends, and family, and barbeque… What’s not to love?

For me, I never really loved hauling around my full sized grill.

For one thing, I had to haul it in my truck. Ok, so a car doesn’t exactly go with the concept of tailgating, but my SUV would. Unfortunately, my full size grill wouldn’t fit inside my SUV.

Also, full sized grills love to tip over when you’re driving them to the game. Sure you can tie them off, but then you have to untie them, and then retie them when you leave… you get the idea.

Table top grills are perfect for tailgating. They ride in the back of the truck without complaint, and they don’t even need to be tied down. Plus, if you don’t exactly require a tailgate, then the trunk of the car will work just fine.

On a similar note, table top grills work great for camping trips too. Now I’m not talking about backpacking into the mountains with your grill in your hands. But if you like to camp beside your car, or down beside a lake, or at improved campgrounds, a table top grill is the perfect solution.

Table top grills are perfect for apartment dwellers as well. Many of us that live in apartments are forced to make do with a balcony. I’m not saying that you can’t get a full sized grill out onto the balcony as many have done it before. But a table top grill sure fits a lot better.

The wind can be a major concern when you’re grilling. You don’t want your flame to blow out of course, but there is another issue. If the wind is strong enough, you’re grill won’t get as hot. This can be a problem when grilling meats that need to get to a certain temperature in order to ensure safe eating.

Table top grills are easy to move around, or behind, or under whatever you need to block the wind enough to get your temperatures where you need them.

Table top doesn’t have to mean small. Their height is shorter, but their widths can be the same as the full sized grills; meaning that they can hold as much food as a full sized model.

If you’re the type that always grills on your patio, then a full size is fine. But if you like to add a little spice to your grilling, and enjoy some different scenery with your steaks, then a table top grill could be just the thing for you.
